| Job Description | Responsible for quality assurance system with respect to sources of material, material testing, tests on completed element of work… Soil and material investigations, testing of materials, analysis and interpretation of results, design of highway, pavement and mix designs, material testing both in the field and laboratory, axle load tests, geo-technical investigations, etc. and overall quality assurance. Regulating the construction process as per stipulated specifications, standards, contract, etc; Ensuring that the mixed material brought to the site was as per quality norms; Exercising full quality control on construction materials and works during various phases of the execution of the project; Monitoring the progress of work for timely completion of the project; Monitor Contractor’s operations including adherence to safety and environmental requirements;
Check and ensure that laboratory are properly organized, staff is adequacy trained and equipment is regularly calibrated; Establishing Quality Assurance Program; Ensuring setting up of site laboratories. Reviewing of materials testing methods and operations. To comment on and assist the Project manager and material engineer relating to concrete mixes work, asphalt mixes work, the use of special material. Exercise full quality control during various phases of execution of the project and of completed works to ensure that the project executed met with the intent of specifications; Make recommendations for removal / rectification of sub-standard works and unsuitable materials. |
